It seems that every time we see them, they've grown taller or changed in some way. They are still both great girls and makes child rearing (as my dad calls it) seem like a walk in the park! I'm dedicating this post to them because I want to remember how they are now in years to come and not forget the details.
Leeana - She's nearly 16 now! IMAGINE THAT..my goodness. She's had her learner's permit about a year now but she had a little scare that makes her wary to drive with her father! Funny story..but wasn't so funny when it happened. We were at a busy shopping center and Lee told her to switch lanes. She thought Lee looked, Lee thought she would have looked. She cut in front of somebody...screamed, slammed on the brakes, and never drove with us again!

She's part of her Water Polo team in school and a major goal-scorer. Our little couch potatoe has become a swimming machine and her body shows it. She's doing great in school still of course and loves to read. Sometimes we have to force her to stop reading so she can tune into the rest of us. She's big on the social life scene despite her father's reluctance on his weekends.

She's funny and has a scarcastic sense of humor but never uses her humor at the expense of anybody's feelings. She's confident to be different and not ashamed to go against the grain. Doesn't have a boyfriend and says, "What's the point of having a guy-friend that you kiss?" So level headed and mature beyond her years. I hope when I have a 16 year old, they are as easy and wonderful as Leeana.

Lauryn - You want the exact opposite of Leeana? Then you got Lauryn! She just turned twelve and on one hand she's changed the most, but on the other, seems like she's been this way since I've known her. Her body has matured but her mind's still the same. She's very shy around strangers and would just observe in silence but very out-going after she knows you for a long time. She's going into middle school after this summer and I told Lee that it's going to change her alot. She's going to be exposed to different influences and while I don't expect her to start smoking pot, she would be impacted in some way.

Lauryn loves to play. She rather ride a bike and hunt for lizzards than even dream of reading a book inside. She loves the beach. We got her a boogie board for her birthday and it's all she wants to do on the weekend. Beach Beach Beach. This weekend we found huge clams in the water and it provided many hours of entertainment for her! She wanted to keep it but Steve Irwin Leeana wanted to throw it back for the sake of conservation. I was with Lauryn..but we threw it back eventually.

You can tell she's still finding her way of who she is and mimicks Leeana, much to Leeana's irriation but who better else to be like than your awesome older sister?! She's still super attached to Lee and I warn him to enjoy it while it lasts because her social life will kick in soon and he'll go to the bottom of the totem pole. She got a cell phone for Xmas and religiously calls Lee every night to find out how his day was, what she did in school and the like. The child still loves teddy bears and we tell her she'll be the kinda driver that puts all her stuffed animals in the backwindow of her car.

Being with both of them is great. Both easy, not much instruction required, and very fun. I relate to Leeana more but I think I'm closer to Lauryn. They have a great set of parents so it makes my life easy peasy!
