Bread oh Glorious Bread!
For years, I have been trying to master home-made bread and I just never got it. But now I have it down to a science! I'm utterly proud of myself and even better - I haven't bought store bought bread in two weeks! These loaves go QUICK and they are even still soft and moist the next day.

Year Two
Can you believe it! Another year under our belt. Gosh so so much has happened in the last year and it truly flew by. Lee and I have a hardly perfect marriage...some days I can't get enough of him and some days I feel to slay him in half. Luckily the latter is far and few inbetween! I admire so much about our marriage...the way we hash stuff out, the way we still make enough other laugh hysterically, the way we're willing to say sorry and ask for forgiveness. Marriage is NOT easy. It's not for the faint of heart. It's not for the arrogant. It's not for the self-fish or lazy. But if you're willing to put the other person's feelings and needs before yours, and it's reciprocated, then you're on the right path. I have zero disillusions that we will NEVER get divorced but we try damn hard everyday to make our union better and better. Here's to our second year and many many more!

Siesta Key at Sunset
Sunsets at this beach are breathtakingly beautiful. It's one of the reasons why we chose to get married here 2 years ago. When we went back this summer, the sunsets still did not disappoint. I've always been a sucker for a sunset! Nothing could show off God's greatness and glory more than a setting sun. I loved taking pictures this time of day because the colors are amazing and I love how I can feel the warmth of the sun through the pictures still.

Night of Joy
This weekend Johann, Lee, Lauryn & I went to see Casting Crowns in concert with For King & Country AND Laura Story!! What an amazing, amazing show it was. I can't even describe it, but when we left we were all flying high off Jesus juice! The singers were amazing, the acoustics, the songs...all inspiring. The icing on the cake was the fact that the lead singer for King & Country was on like boil corn! Lauryn stood in line to get a picture with him and hasn't stopped swooning! Sexy AND loves Jesus!!!! A night I'll never forget.

Love Like Dove
As it is known and never questioned that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, it is know and never questioned in our family that Lee is Adriana's favorite person. We all have a favorite person in this world and yes, even at 2 you can have a favorite person. It's undisputed. The only disputable fact is who is her second favorite! I don't know what Lee has over this girl but she loves him like no other. When she sees him, it's all over for whoever had her attention before. It's easier to surrender than to fight it. She reaches for him, she squirms out of your arms until he's holding her. She would never see me sitting down and come climb on top of me...but will unsolicitely climb in his lap. She would never see me and come with her hands raised for a pick-up...but will stand there until her arms burn for Lee to pick her up. If by some chance I do pick her up and set her down she gladly goes running...if Lee tries to put her downs she crosses her legs and clings to his neck. I could watch the both of them for hours on end play with eachother. The only logical explanation we have for it is that she loves Lee's height and loves being held so high. Lately, she's been kissing him and it's the cutest thing ever. Everytime he puckers up and asks for a kiss she would grab his cheek and plant him one. Me? I have to beg over and over for a kiss! Marsha says green isn't my color but it's not fair! I love her the most!
Happy Sweet 2nd Birthday
Yes. I'm gonna say it again...I can't believe she's two. I really can't. Makes me sad that so much time has gone by already. Just the other day I went to see Marsha in the hospital and I held her for the first time. Now she doesn't even like to be held. So independent. So funny. So cute. Her birthday theme was Sofia the First, one of her favorite cartoons. My sweet child is two and soon she'll be twenty-two but that won't change how much I love her.

Peace & Quiet
Saturday Feb 22. 12:51 p.m.
Such a quiet day. Just woke up from a nap leaving Lee in bed. Johann's sleeping too. Rain just fell and the house is dark, cool, and quiet. Very rare for a Saturday afternoon around here. Usually I'm pumping on all cylinders cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking like a mad woman. But not today. Just sitting here on the couch in my nightee (still) with the laptop googling, reading. I hear thunder in the distance. Such a nice change. Makes me want to be still and pray. Think I'll do that after. Sometimes the quiet is my worst enemy though. Makes my mind stray and think about all sorts of craziness, sadness. Just something I have to deal with alot in quiet moments but it's not as bad as it use to be. One thing I've learnt in the last 4 months is to slow down and smell the roses. Well, I'm smelling!
